Project Engineer

Royal Vopak is the world’s leading independent tank storage company that employs around 6,000 employees in 23 countries throughout the world. In Australia, we have locations in Port Botany, Sydney and Darwin and employ 70 people.

We are now seeking to hire a Project Engineer, Capex and Improvement.  

What will you do as a Project Engineer?

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for assisting the Vopak Project Team with project engineering and coordination of projects from an early concept and design stage through tendering, construction, commissioning to operation. The Vopak Project Team consists of the Engineering team of five and the Maintenance Team of three.

What do we expect from you as a Project Engineer?

• Multi-disciplinary project engineering & management experience (15 years) in the Oil and Chemical industries
• Project control, particularly using your attention to detail and influencing skills to keep things on track and keep a tight rein on cost
• Exceptional stakeholder management, particularly managing external contractors
• Highly collaborative across diverse range of stakeholders, including land owner's, government and joint venture partners
• Proven ability to deliver on commitments
• You must have experience in at least one of these areas: oil and gas or chemical storage; electrical and instrumentation; mechanical, civil and structural or process projects plus experience in the storage and handling of petroleum; in particular fuel tank farms and pipeline construction.
