Vopak WeConnect Foundation

Living up to our value of 'care', Vopak is convinced that it is more important than ever for our society and wellbeing that people learn to think internationally and to bridge cultural differences from a young age. The Vopak WeConnect Foundation wants young people to experience that there is a world full of opportunities to discover if they learn to look beyond their own boundaries, and to pass on the value of working together with others.

Many young people in our surrounding communities grow up with fewer opportunities in life. They often need a helping hand and support to learn that there is a world outside waiting to be discovered. The Vopak WeConnect Foundation provides support by helping young people gain useful knowledge and skills, learn languages, be inspired by career stories or help them with music, art or even sports activities.

Since the launch of the Foundation in 2017, many colleagues at Vopak locations have engaged with their local communities and started a Vopak WeConnect project. For example, look at the "Young Leaners" project, which aims to give young people, with an abckground in engineering, the opportunity to gain work experience at Vopak.
