Position of role within Vopak
The Junior Insurance Manager is part of the Insurance Advisory team. The Insurance team consists of two Insurance Managers and one Insurance Officer, all directly reporting to the Global Director Treasury, Insurance and Pensions.
The Insurance Advisory team is responsible for the procurement of the Global Insurance program as well as the claims handling globally and instigates recovery actions on third parties. In addition, the team evaluates and manages the insurable risk potentially affecting the profitability or the company's going concern.
Within the team, the Junior Insurance Manager is primarily responsible for the handling of the property damage/business interruption and liability claims and instigates recovery actions on third parties of such claims. Furthermore, the Junior Insurance Manager supports the Insurance Managers in the yearly renewal process of the Global Insurance Program and safeguarding the Insurance policies and procedures.
HBO level or Bachelor law degree including relevant insurance certificates
At least 2-4 years work experience in the insurance industry and claims handling and legislation;
Knowledge of the insurance market, -products and regulations;
Fluent in Dutch and English, written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Analytical mindset recognizing exposures and translate them into insurance solutions;
Strong communicator for maintaining contacts with (external) third parties;
No-nonsense proactive team player;
Eagerness to learn and gaining new insurance skills;
Flexible with a 24/7 mentality and service orientated mindset.
Ability to advise the company primarily on claims matters and insurance related issues;
Organize the efficient and professional handling of Property and Liability claims, to analyze and settle them, to liaise with operating companies and if needed to negotiate with lawyers, adjusters, insurers and third parties;
Manage claims files in the most efficient and effective way;
Organize efficient recovery procedures against third parties;
Ensure that all claims are registered in the in-house Risk register;
Support the Insurance Managers in the yearly renewal process of the Global Insurance Program;
As a joint responsibility with the Mid-Officer Insurance, inform terminals on the outcome of the renewals, send out the schedules of location, report insured values and premiums to the organization as per renewal date(s).
Support the preparation of relevant statistical information and data analysis;
Provide assistance where appropriate to the Insurance Managers and the Global Director in projects;
Provide documentary backup of insurance contracts;
