Vopak LNG has been identified as one of its key growth pillars for the coming years, with many international business development opportunities in the pipeline. To help us with the realization of our ambitions, we are looking for a Business Process Analyst LNG located in The Netherlands, Rotterdam.

At this moment in time, LNG is the main fuel facilitating the energy transition in many countries in the world. The LNG Division of Royal Vopak governs four LNG terminals, of which two onshore and two FSRU-based. The onshore terminals are GATE terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Terminal LNG Altamira, Mexico. In Port Qasim, Pakistan we are partnering with Engro in a floating regasification terminal and in Colombia we have a share in SPEC terminal in Cartagena. Next to our four operational terminals we are engaged in a number of LNG projects, including in Zhangjiagang, Hamburg and Hong Kong. We are aiming for expanding our footprint in the LNG infrastructure business worldwide and foresee significant growth for the coming years.


  • Master degree in Business/IT

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Process Improvement in the logistics supply chain field

  • Certified in LEAN, and or Six Sigma

  • Customer oriented, efficient, initiative taking team worker who is able to analyze problems without losing sight of result and quality

  • Experience in at least one end to end software implementation life cycle

  • Experience in Process Modeling Tools like Aris

  • Experience in agile way of working

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills

  • Good communication skills & Fluent in English

  • International mindset, willingness to travel

  • Work permit for The Netherlands

Tasks & responsibilities:

As a project-based Business Process Analyst you will play a key role in developing a standard set of processes for all new Vopak LNG terminals and analyzing the existing in-house software solution to meet the requirements of business processes. This project-based involvement is envisaged for approximately one year. Depending on your own development and interest there is a realistic possibility to continue your involvement in the next phases, including the rollout of the service solution at the new LNG terminals globally.

  • You'll have a hybrid role combining process knowledge on logistics processes with IT experience

  • With the support of Subject Matter Experts and Project Managers, you will analyze LNG specific business processes at existing Vopak LNG terminals. The focus will be on the order to cash (O2C) and Arrival to Departure (A2D)

  • You'll facilitate the establishment of a standard set of processes (blueprint)

  • You'll take responsibility to translate process requirements into IT requirements

  • You'll ensure that those requirements will be realized and implemented in an agile way following the fit-gap analysis with the existing in-house software solution

  • Jointly with the Project Manager you'll ensure adequate management of diverse stakeholders from operating companies, global IT and LNG teams

  • Document detailed business process descriptions for Vopak processes

  • Document and maintain User Requirements Specifications and User Stories for the IT capabilities based on the detailed process models

  • Act as intermediary between the business and IT organization by mapping business requirements with IT capabilities

  • Ensure business requirements are met by the IT system(s)
