It's increasingly a Digital World; Global IT is not only setting but also executing Vopak's Digitalisation Strategy on a Global scale. Being the IT Business Controller, you will actively guide and support key activities forming part of that strategy reporting to the Finance Director Global IT and at the same time bring increased structure and transparency to the increasing facets of the role.
You will work as part of the GIT Finance & Control team with 4 other team members (financial administrator, financial controller, supply & delivery administrator, contract & supplier process manager) all reporting to the Finance Director Global IT. Key is working together with a good team spirit, closely liaising to ensure optimum business (management) and financial control.
Experience (5-7 years) in accounting and administration; preferable to have worked at an accountant's firm (Big 4 or middle tier)
An education at University/HBO level in Economics, Business Administration or a related subject
Preferably hands-on knowledge of accounting consolidation systems such as Tagetik and financial administration systems such as Oracle Cloud
Advanced Excel skills
Analytical and conceptual thinking, adaptable to change and develop new situations (ie; not keeping to the ‘as-is'), clear communication skills
Quick understanding and ownership of financial models/calculations; able to organize data clearly and translate it into relevant management information;
Strong team player and Good command of the Dutch and English language
Adequate IFRS, Tax and Dutch GAAP reporting knowledge
Preferably affinity with IT; Agile (demonstrating flexibility in) way of working; willingness to learn and demonstrates staying power (endurance)

Tasks & responsibilities:
Supporting the Global IT planning, budgeting and control cycle translating strategy into annual transparent Global IT budgets that also include IT spend in the local organisation (ie Division and Operating Companies) as well as at Global. Budgets include IT Opex and Capex spend and FTEs. Requires clear, transparent guidance to all stakeholders (global and local).
Clear and transparent analysis, control and reporting on annual Global IT budgets compared to targets for Management Team and Executive Board reporting; including Latest Estimates. Developing new look IT reporting reflecting needs of the business and stakeholders.
Supports development of (multi-year) Long Term outlook
Support IT pricing strategy for charging of products and services using Total Cost of Service (TCO) model; ownership of model by IT business controller.
Supports financial and project controlling of IT projects; a critical project is the financial and project controlling of MOVES program for reporting to the Program Board; correct cost accounting (opex and capex) and allocation between Local and Global is essential. Clear guidance on these topics is required.
Key role in Oracle Cloud improvements (financial, procurement and projects); not only looking at the current as-is but also future requirements as to increased automation reducing existing manual work.
Managing and updating Principle Tool Box for Global IT purposes given this is the project management tool of Global IT recording hours and expenses on projects.
Supporting Global Director on standards, templates and governance with respect to controlling and managing IT spend on a global basis. Being a key agent of change within IT.
Key to the role is active liaison with a number of identified stakeholders: he GIT management team members and staff such as project managers and service delivery persons, Global IT procurement persons, Division Controllers with respect to their IT costs (expected and actual) both opex and capex; the Global finance departments, in particular Global Tax, Global Reporting & Control, Business Analysis & Strategic Finance etc. Listening to and addressing stakeholder requirements will be key; also supporting as an agent of change.
