Academic level with a background in finance / business economics;
At least 5 years relevant work experience;
Strong analytical skills and conceptual capabilities;
Good command of English language, both verbal and written;
Enthusiastic team player;
Self-starter who takes ownership;
Easily connect with colleagues on various levels of the company and nationalities;
Knowledge of Tagetik and financial reporting systems and strong affinity with Information Technology as enabler behind process innovation.

Tasks & responsibilities:
You will be working in a highly motivated team (in total 4 persons) which is used to work with deadlines. As a business analyst you will provide in-depth analyses on performance of the company, understand and evaluate the parameters driving this performance and contribute to plans positively impacting this performance. In close consultation with Sales & Marketing, Investor relations and Global Operations, Divisions and Opco's you will bring the department further into an intelligent cross functional strategic analyses team. You will report to the Manager Business Analysis.
Challenge the traditional ways of our approach towards business analyses, while developing and implementing new data analytics techniques and other analytical tools/best practices;
Development of ‘fit for purpose' ideas, KPI's and reporting templates to facilitate senior management in enhancing the overall performance of Vopak's portfolio of terminals;
Reviewing and challenging (divisional & corporate) budgets and latest estimates, combined with active involvement in setting the top-down budget;
Provide quarterly updates (e-notes) to the Executive Board on market developments and Vopak's short-term financial performance which are discussed with the Supervisory Board;
Regularly support divisional and terminal investment plans in respect of acquisitions, divestments, greenfield terminals, growth investments and terminal master plans at existing terminals to ensure efficient usage of best practices & know how;
Support divisions on developing sound investment proposals;
Evaluating investment proposals and advising the Executive Board;
Ensure accurate recording of Vopak's project portfolio and update quarterly the Executive Board on the key developments of Vopak's project funnel, financial outlook and headroom implications for various scenarios;
Contribute to ad-hoc multi-disciplinary projects, focused on performance enhancement such as benchmarking, cost competitiveness and post investment evaluations;
Liaising with other global departments as required, as well as providing support and advice to divisions on a need case basis.
