Position Summary
This position supports the U.S. entities as a key member of the U.S. HR Shared Services team. Manages all Human Resources generalist duties on a day-to-day basis including, but not limited to recruitment, training & development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, performance management, employee relations and various other Human Resources projects for the U.S. locations.
Essential Job Functions
Oversees recruitment; determines methods of recruitment; manages staffing for all exempt and hourly positions at the U.S. entities including the Division office
Develops and fosters relationships with appropriate search firms; assists in service contract negotiations; handles college recruitment
Identifies staff vacancies; interviews candidates; writes offer letters
Manages the company's internship and trainee program
Manages the on-boarding process for new employees; assists with benefit enrollment
Develops and delivers training for supervisors, leaders, managers, and selected other positions; designs training programs including, but not limited to, leadership, diversity, regulatory and legal requirements, employee orientation, and divisional training. May also work with outside training companies to design development programs.
Coordinates participants for global training programs and sets up online training via available offerings
Recommends policies and programs to attract and retain talent
Assists with succession planning; keeps and updates records
Assists with employee relations for the US. terminals, conducts employee investigations
Coaches and counsel managers; serves as consultant to management in employee matters; interprets and communicates policies; discusses options in employee relations matters
Advises management on organizational policy matters; recommends changes as necessary
Maintains records; compiles statistical reports on personnel related data
Acts as a key user in Workday HRIS system and takes the lead on the absence and leave module
Facilitates employee engagement surveys, holds focus group meetings
Oversees job description process; ensures job descriptions are updated as necessary; verifies regulatory compliance
Conducts exit interviews; documents findings; reports findings to appropriate parties
Assists in development of departmental budget
Acts as Project Manager for Human Resources projects; assists managers with process improvement projects
Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champions safety as necessary
Experience Requirement
7-10 years Human Resources experience preferably in a plant setting
Critical ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in creative writing
Experience in facilitation a plus
Customer service focus including the ability to speak diplomatically; problem solver
Team building and negotiations skills
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various programs and applications. Experience with Workday HRIS preferred
Ability to manage, motivate, coach and work with others to accomplish objectives
Ability to multi-task; experience in project management
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
PHR or SPHR preferred
