Your role and impact:

As our Senior Project Engineer, you are responsible for the governance of the project, including the development of the technical scope, alignment with the Project team and Internal Customer to translate the project requirements into a service delivery.  The incumbent is also responsible for coaching and guiding the Project team to ensure timely delivery of the project and is executed in compliance with Vopak standards. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for project tender preparation, evaluation and execution

• Ensure that project is executed in compliance with Vopak standards, including safety and regulatory requirements

• Ensure that project execution is within budget and follows planned schedule closely

• Manage contractors/ vendors in safe, timely execution of projects

• Take lead in preparation and completion of the ITB document including Basis of Design (BoD).

• Develop bid & piping packages for smaller project portions and work with Vopak Managers to develop bid packages for larger turnkey construction project portions.

• Report to Project Manager and liaises with other discipline lead engineers to ensure proper coordination and interface among different disciplines

• Responsible for Project governance which refers to the set of policies, standards, procedures and responsibilities that define establishment, management and control of projects.

• Take lead in overall compliance to Vopak Project Management (VPM) requirements.

• Keep abreast with the requirements of local legislative requirements and Vopak Corporate, Codes, Standards, and regulations

• Responsible for the post implementation review of projects in terms of maintainability of plant & equipment and make recommendations for continuous improvement

• Manage stakeholder relationships both internally and externally

• Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met

• Responsible for coaching and guiding Project teams

Requirements:

• At least 5 to 8 years Oil & Petrochemical experience. 5 years project management experience, in similar industry

• Diploma/ Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical or Process

• Conversant with International standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, OCIMF, NFPA, Singapore Standard, Code of Practice.

• Project or work exposure in tank engineering, construction or maintenance.

• Project or work exposure in process design or rotating equipment / terminal equipment maintenance,

• Sound Project Management skills and track record

• Knowledge of technical functional areas for better coordination and timely decision making

• Risk management

• Financial management skills

• Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

• Effective problem solving skills
