Position Summary

This position handles internal and external communications for the Company including liaising with the media and establishing communications strategies and delivery methods.  


  • College degree in Business, English, Communications, or related field required

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • 10+ years corporate communications experience

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in creative writing

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Customer service focus including the ability to speak diplomatically; problem solver

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applications

  • Ability to manage, motivate, coach and work with others to accomplish objectives; experience managing and influencing teams that do not report directly to you

  • Comfortable working in a multicultural work environment

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develops the division's internal communications strategy

  • Develops America's division communications plan; coordinates with global communications department in Rotterdam.

  • Develops and provides communication tools to the operating companies based on their business strategic priorities

  • Acts as the divisional advisor for global corporate publications

  • Participates in the global corporate communications leadership team along with peers from other divisions (Europe and Africa, Asia and the Middle East, China)  and the global communications team

  • Delivers corporate messages to the division using the most suitable communications methods

  • Set content and edits the divisional newsletter and other communication channels in the Americas division

  • Organizes and liaises with members of the media regarding special corporate community events

  • Functions as divisional contact for corporate 'event' celebrations

  • Acts as Divisional expert in crisis management

  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
