Your role and impact:

As our Project Engineer, you will responsible for leading and in control of the field project activities and act as the plant operator representative. Project Engineer with liaise the Project team/Owner/vendors and ensures we are providing the requested support and that the work is completed within the plant standards.   • To lead and manage the ongoing brownfield project activities on site

  • To attend technical meetings with contractors, project supervisor and owner related to the brownfield project

  • To review the technical documentation from project team and provide comments after collating from other departments

  • To coordinate with other departments (Operations/Safety) related to the brownfield project site activities

  • Work closely with maintenance coordinator to manage site activities and construction and act as the focal point from BCSS for all site activities

  • Permit review and approval, Method of statement review and approval, Risk assessment review and approval

  • To attend the mechanical completion site walk/sub system walk down /punch list management

  • Preparation of progress report of the brownfield project and dissemination

  • Attend meetings with vendors/project manager/JTC and to represent BCSS

  • Manage the technical documentation and verification process

  • To assist the Manager/Senior Engineer in the initiative projects taken to improve JRC facility/BCSS

  • To prepare the tender documents for spare equipment/parts purchase and to coordinate with procurement

  • To assist the Manager/Senior Engineer in the equipment maintenance contractors by preparing tender documents, estimations, budget write up and compilation 

  • To assist the Manager/Senior Engineer in the overall improvement of the maintenance strategy/activities by involving in various activities within the department together with team members

  • To assist the Manager/Senior Engineer to lead the safety initiatives within the department to up bring the safety culture

  • To support and participate with the maintenance team for the site maintenance activities/ meetings/ technical discussion/breakdowns, etc. as and when required and requested.


  • Min 3 years of relevant experience in oil/petrochemical/refinery industry/water treatment industry Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering

  • A sharp analytical nature, a pragmatic mentality and the ability to present and communicate effectively.

  • Experience in project management/site supervision/commissioning/start up

  • Experience in construction/ pre-commissioning/ commissioning/ start-up of waste water treatment plan is an added advantage

  • Possess strong technical knowledge related to piping, mechanical equipment, static and rotating equipment

  • Experience in brownfield projects/plant maintenance is an added advantage

  • Proficient in MS Office, project planning, progress reporting

  • Familiar with document management, technical documentation review (P&ID, HAZOP, Design review, etc.)

  • Ability and willingness to trouble-shoot problems to support terminal's 24/7 operation with minimum downtime (only when required)
