Position Summary

This position contributes to the improvement of the company's profitability by providing timely and accurate analyses as support to operational, commercial, and management.

Job Requirements

  • Analysis of results and forecasts including KPI's, capital investments and profitability measures
  • Perform complex financial modeling tasks and have the capability to develop financial models to achieve departmental and/or company objectives
  • Analysis of cost and variance trends and key performance metrics
  • Supports operating companies with developing sound investment proposals for expansions, greenfield terminals and acquisitions
  • Consolidates monthly and quarterly (financial and sustainability) reports for division management
  • Responsible for supporting the business development team with financial aspects of business development such as building financial models and ensuring accuracy of financial assumptions
  • Contributes to ad-hoc multi-disciplinary projects, focused on performance enhancement such as benchmarking, cost competitiveness and post investment evaluations
  • Becomes an expert user of the relevant Vopak systems including our consolidation and reporting software and Project management tool
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and positively impact profitability results
  • Some travel may be required
  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or similar degree required
  • Minimum of  5 years experience in company finance with extensive experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, financial compliance and investment evaluation;
  • Proven strong analytical skills;
  • In-depth understanding of financial reporting and financial management concepts;
  • Strong financial modeling skills;
  • Ability to mutli-task;
  • Ability to motivate, coach and work with others to accomplish objectives;
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of financial systems;
  • Customer focused with a drive for continuous improvements that help the financial function or others;
  • Experience in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and related industries preferred;
  • Expertise in IFRS preferred;
  • Excellent English communications skills, both oral and written
