Finance Functions

  • Achieve optimal financial and administrative operations for Vopak Caribbean Cluster while continuously improving them. 
  • Guarantee proper cash-flow planning
  • Developing long-term business plans and strategies
  • Coordinate and produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses for decision making and reporting requirements to the Division
  • Direct financial resources by using a proper budget management process and implementing accounting processes, invoicing, and treasury management policies.   
  • Authorize appropriate system users, roles and entitlements.
  • Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk
  • Protect the Company's assets by implementing physical controls, capitalization schedules and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets and financial reports and submit them (via Tagetik) to Global.
  • Develop and implement best practices in administrative processes and document management.
  • Develop Capex project and investment valuations, guaranteeing compliance with Annual Sustaining Capex Program alignment.

Legal and Compliance

  • Guarantee proper update and documentation of Finance and Compliance procedures and policies
  • Assure proper tracking of local legislature to guarantee compliance with all supervising entities in Panamá (AMP, ANA, Secretaría de Energía, etc.) and Colombia (Cormagdalena, ANI, Supertransporte, Aduanas, etc.)
  • Keep in touch with the company's advisors to comply with Colombian legislation.
  • Assure that all products we store and method of storage are compliant with required legislation.
  • Implement, design and maintain strategies and methodologies in compliance with the SARLAFT System.
  • Audit the Stock Control procedures and the way it is carried out in each terminal stays within the Stock Control standard.
  • Guarantee the proper insurance coverage is in place with all our authorities.
  • Manage the relationship with Delima Marsh (Global Insurance Broker)
  • Lead the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) and CRSA (Control Risk Self Assessment) annual process.


  • Guarantee proper application of approval thresholds and vendor management in compliance with the Cluster's Procurement policies
  • Manage, where necessary, vendor relationships.
