Location: Shanghai, China

Key accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain proper system to identify and register applicable legislations (Focus on Environmental) for terminals
  • Guidance terminal to manage Environmental regulations compliance system, conduct gap analysis and identify mitigation measures
  • Assess and comment the leveraging of effectiveness and investment of mitigating measures
  • Identify, highlight and interpret important Environmental legislative requirements to terminals
  • Lead and coordinate terminal pollution, such as organic vapour and waste water, hazardous waste, etc. control and reduction programs
  • Lead and coordinate terminal energy saving programs for reducing footprint in the planet
  • lWork with Vopak Global and terminals to promote environment / sustainable programs, such as CO2 emission control and VOC reduction
  • Take part in terminals' environmental programs according to request
  • Involve into project design at earlier stage and comment to environmental design to achieve front-end benefits
  • Coordinate and communicate with 3rd party company to ensure the smooth proceeding of environmental assessment activities
  • Assist explanation to project owner, design institute, engineering company and construction company etc. according to request
  • Perform works in accordance with Company Procedures, standards, specifications and any regulations
  • Establish local know-how through sharing with other / new terminals/projects
  • Review or audit terminal environmental system and performance
  • Guidance terminal for asset integrity or improvement via proper sustaining capex plan
  • Trace and review terminal sustainability report monthly
  • Be recognised as a strong contributor to Vopak China SHE group

Education and Experience   

  • Bachelor/Master degree in environment or equivalent
  • Experience in environmental compliance or equivalent in oil and/or chemical industries is preferred
  • Experience in international oil and/or chemical companies is a plus
  • Good understanding of international and local safety, health and environment legislations
  • Good knowledge on waste water collection and treatment technologies
  • Good knowledge on organic vapour collection and treatment technologies
  • Good knowledge on process, P&ID and process control, etc.
  • Good skills on troubleshooting, analytical, communication and coordination
  • Computer skills with office software
  • Shall be very commutative and pro-active
  • Good verbal and written communication skill, both in English and Mandarin.
