Position Summary
This position has the objective to develop and drive an accelerated growth plan that fits the overall strategy of the organization. The BD Manager will act as a change agent and explore opportunities beyond existing business portfolio that will help execute the ambition to become a leader in the industrial terminal space, but also has the responsibility to translate energy transition ambitions into tangible and executable opportunities.
The BD Manager will be part of the leadership team and will interact closely with the Divisional team in search on synergies in the US.
Essential Job Functions

Contributes to the development, implementation and realization of the division business strategy and annual plan and budget
Develops the business development plan and budget derived from the business strategy, plan and budget.
Gathers, monitors, analyzes, administers, and shares relevant market data and developments as well as customer development information
Cooperates with commercial professionals; networks with appropriate groups and individuals; establishes relationships with management; identifies opportunities for future business
Identifies business opportunities; initiates and develops business development proposals, investment plans and budgets;
Manages and/or participates in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, new building projects, and major expansions to achieve agreed business development project objectives
Plans, manages multi disciplinary teams; monitors progression (actions and budget) and realizes business development projects in line with Company guidelines
Builds and maintains close relationships with the Company network, authorities, potential customers and JV partners, and service providers ensuring their support in the interest of a successful project realization
Prepares partner contracts, contributes to the negotiation and execution of the contract in close cooperation with general, financial and commercial management; strives to have clear and univocal understanding of the provisions with the partner(s) in the business development process
Defines services, enters into contract and manages contracts (performance, cost) with external professionals and/or service providers ensuring external professional expertise or support to achieve business development objectives
Incorporates all necessary Company policies, procedures and systems in the business development project proposal and execution; makes use of best practices for compliance and project success purposes
Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Experience Requirement
Minimum 10 years experience in business development within the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and logistics related industries; basic knowledge of processes and regulations in these industries
Knowledge of current safety and environmental laws and regulations
Current familiarity with market conditions, including customer and competitor information in the industries served as well as the terminal sector
Broad knowledge of Company offerings, contracts, investment guidelines, services and Company policies, rules, regulations and procedures
Ability to operate under multiple deadlines, different market conditions and with multiple customers
Proven knowledge of sales skills including the ability to influence and negotiate with others
Basic understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, return on investment, cost of goods/services sold, profitability, credit-worthiness, days-outstanding, and related concepts
Analytical skills and the ability to analyze and summarize financial data
Good computer skills, including ability to use MS Office Suite, various email, internet, and other programs used by the Company and specifically the Sales Department
Ability to generate clear and concise reports and presentations
Customer service focus including the ability to communicate diplomatically; problem solver; project management skills
Excellent English communications skills, both oral and written
Ability to successfully handle social as well as business interactions with various people including customers and vendors
Education Requirement
A college degree in business, engineering or other related field
Advanced degree preferred
Experience in a related industry highly desirable
