WHO YOU ARE
To be successful in this role candidates must be able to demonstrate:
A strong professional ethics with high integrity
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
High level of planning and strong organisational skills
Passionate about developing and coaching people
A proven track record of managing SHE function in operations across interstate and dealing with the government authorities (ie.: EPA, SafeWork)
Have expert knowledge of local environmental laws, regulations, standards and permit requirements
Have 7+ years of experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities or highly regulated operations environment
A tertiary qualification in HSEQ Management or relevant disciplines
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a key role in the organisation which oversees and manages all aspects of the safety, health, environment, quality and sustainability function within Vopak Australia.
This is a Sydney based permanent role, reporting to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Empowering, coaching and influencing operational teams in Sydney and Darwin to promote a positive safety culture
Fostering collaborative and proactive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as authorities in NSW and NT
Ensuring all terminals are in compliance with Company and Government standards and requirements
Developing, implementing and maintaining SHEQ policies and procedures in compliance with regulations, company requirements and industry best practices
Driving continuous improvement and compliance in safety, health, environment and quality and identifying/implementing improvement strategies
Conducting internal audits, inspections, investigations to assist in recommendations for SHEQ & Sustainability performance improvement
Leading management of incidents and risks to ensure they are appropriately captured, reported and preventive actions are implemented
Developing and maintaining SHEQ performance metrics and being responsible for regular performance reporting to the management
Managing and providing effective leadership to the SHEQ team
Being an active member of the local management team and adding value to shaping the business strategy and effective operations of the organisation
