As our Senior Project Engineer/ Manager, Energy Transition, we are looking for a technical and operational specialist to pursue and support growth in this new infrastructure. This position reports to the Operations & Technology Director, Vopak Asia and Middle East, and located in our regional office in Singapore. This position will work closely with our New Energies group which is part of our LNG division.

Responsibilities:
In summary, you will be our technical/operational specialist, working in cross functional teams where business and operational requirements get translated into concepts, and later into sound project baselines with scope, HSEQ, cost and schedule
For projects which are at the early identification stage, you are required to develop conceptual proposals. You will be required to engage with key stakeholders as you develop these proposals
For projects which advances to the next stage, you are required to support the process of funding approvals
And for projects that are in the advance stage, you are ready to be assigned to the project delivery team during the definition (FEED) and execution (construction & commissioning) phase. Willingness to travel or work abroad and high mobility is therefore required
You are expected to contribute your technical and operational knowledge in the following areas:
• Ensure the application of up-to-date and optimized process technology solutions
• Develop and review design requirements related to process technology, systems and equipment, in compliance with local regulations, Vopak standards and international standards, and in general best practices suitable for the products being handled
• Ability to participate in PFD, HAZID, Heat & Material Balance, P&ID, HAZOP, process control, LOPA, process safety, emissions (footprint) reviews
• Participate in Technical Readiness Level (TRL) assessments, Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Engineering and FEED work of New Energy projects
• Assist in the process of preparing project estimates, budgets, schedules and execution plans
• Manage 3rd party consultants and/or contractors, review and approve proposals and packages which may form part of our proposal package
• Develop and maintain a New Energy process engineering community within Vopak around emerging new technologies, e.g. green ammonia to hydrogen cracking, LOHC cracking, chemical recycling, etc
Requirements:
Degree (Master’s preferred) in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of working experience in industries such as Oil and Gas (production plants, refineries), Chemical (crackers, ammonia plants) or Industrial Gases
Technical and operational product/handling knowledge of cryogenic, refrigerated, pressurized and toxic products such as LNG, Ammonia
Broad process knowledge of these products, an understanding of the appropriate modalities for these products, and translation of these knowledge into storage and handling solutions
Conceptualization skill: Ability to use customer requirements/customer needs together with experience to develop concepts, and progressively drive these concepts towards storage and handling solutions
Communication and collaboration skills across different functions e.g. customers, business development, technical package providers, wider Vopak network etc
