What will you do as a Maintenance Engineer?

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for developing feasibility study include basic conceptual design of storage, pumping, and loading/unloading operations for Commercial and potential Terminal development projects, including heating, vapor/waste water treatment, firefighting utility systems etc and providing technical support and assessment for terminal operations and maintenance.

What do we expect from you as a Maintenance Engineer?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations or Chemicals plants or Oil & Gas industry  

  • Project proficiency with Engineering and Operational background and experience in managing tank farm and similar projects

  • Knowledge of technical functional areas for better coordination and timely decision making 

  • Familiarity with Vopak Way and Repeatable Formula and other SHEQ&T and operational standards (internal)

  • Ability to manage multiple party communication and operate under stress critical

  • Risk management

  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

  • Effective problem solving skills

  • Ability to resolve conflicting situations

  • Strong data analysis acumen and ability to transform findings into opportunities for improvement

  • Familiar with OT system

  • Ability to perform RCFA and develop mitigation plan

Your core responsibilities are:

  • Assist commercial in developing the business and financial model of new business opportunities

  • Work with Maintenance team on budgetary cost for projects and Three-Year Maintenance Plan

  • Prepare specifications and estimate costs for the proposed new, modifications, projects.

  • Produce basic conceptual design of storage, pumping and loading/unloading operation

  • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations

  • Prepare & Issue of SoW, BQ and RFQ’s, evaluation of vendor’s quotations, clarifications, technical bid analysis etc

  • Responsible for identifying whether an asset requires preventive maintenance, based on risk assessments & asset criticality review, regulatory & statutory requirements, Vopak standards, maintenance policies and analysis of the maintenance history

  • Responsible for determining and adjusting the required preventive maintenance and frequency for an asset: specifying what type of preventive maintenance must be performed on a regular basis, possible adjustments based on manufacturers’ instructions, legislation requirements, Vopak standard requirements and/or status of warranty

  • Responsible for establishing which default activities, standard procedures and required tools are needed as part of the preventive maintenance Work orders and consult with the Planner to get his input on the scope of work and default activities. 

  • Responsible for adding a cost estimate to the PM schedule

  • Responsible for identifying the information required in the inspection reports

  • Responsible for terminal asset lifecycle management

  • Set up the preventive maintenance requirements, create/ update preventive maintenance schedules based on the FYMP and criticality assessments  

  • Periodically analyzes asset- and maintenance performance to optimize the preventive maintenance schedules

  • Ensure maintenance/inspection report is reviewed and the individual follow up actions are identified

  • Ensure CMMS Work order is created before job execution

  • Identify Capex required based on business or sustainability needs of the terminal

  • Study and develop scope of work & costs estimates

  • Perform tenders for the Capex projects

  • Execute the Capex projects in line with applicable Vopak standards such as Management of Change (E-MOC) and Vopak Project Management (VPM)

  • Perform hydraulic check for pump selection and pipeline sizing

  • Support on asset data management

  • Involve in commissioning / de commissioning

  • Support and guide the technicians on more complex issues

  • Determine root cause for equipment and system failures and recommend corrective measures

  • Day to day in technical support to Maintenance team
