Job Description
Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of all instruments, distributive control systems, electrical equipment, PLC’s and/or process analyzers. Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical and instrumentation and control systems and equipment such as major plant power distribution system controllers, wiring, switches, control valves, analyzers (process and environmental) and alarm systems used in both PLC & DCS control environments for the monitoring, control, & safeguarding of process system flows and operating variables in accordance with applicable codes and safety regulations.
Performs a variety of complex technical duties, including locating and diagnosing complex equipment failures. Able to read, interpret, & modify Ladder Logic and Cause & Effect Diagrams to maintain system operation within design requirements. Also assists in design and development of new equipment or systems for new or improved processes.May also perform repair, replacement, adjustment, and preventive maintenance on plant operating & control equipment.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Some college courses in IT, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
Electrical Journeyman State Licensed preferred
3-5 years experience in Instrumentation & Electrical industry preferred
Must possess a valid state Driver’s License
Must be fluent in English (read, write, speak) and able to read and write at a minimum of high school level and communicate effectively
Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and directions
Ability to read, interpret and follow U.S. Coast Guard manuals and other regulatory documents as they relate to work being performed
Ability to read and understand safety procedures, including Federal OSHA and state OSHA guidelines
Must have math skills equal to or in excess of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division and be able to work with fractions and perform various conversions per common practice in the petroleum/chemical industry
Able to work shift work on a rotating schedule (i.e. days 0600 – 1800 and nights 1800 – 0600), if required.
Ability to work overtime as the workload dictates and to be on-call when needed
Effective/good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in the JDE and CMMS systems, as well as other terminal operating systems

Responsibilities include:
The craftsman has the authority of the Maintenance Supervisor when appointed, and the authority to fulfill the responsibilities of this job description
Must be knowledgeable in NEC electrical code, voltage, current, and power levels to 600 volts
Must be knowledgeable in single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
Responsible for repair, troubleshooting, upgrade, and calibration of the following:
Programmable Logic Controllers
Chart Recorder Devices
Controllers/Analyzers/Frequency Inverters
Level Controls/Signal Devices
Vapor Control Systems
Burner Management Systems
Flow Control Devices
Test Equipment
Automation Equipment/Monitors
Knowledgeable of 12.474 KV power distribution systems
Knowledgeable of conduit and raceway installations
Cost estimation, contact with vendors, and purchase of equipment and materials
Stock inventory of various parts
Housekeeping in the work area
Assist in establishing and maintaining the file system
Performance of preventative maintenance on all equipment
Assist other crafts as needed or assigned by I&E Supervisor
Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA)
Good computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applications, financial software, databases, order systems, maintenance systems, and other programs used by the Company
Ability to prioritize work; multi-tasking skills; good listener; proven ability to function as a team player
Industrial planning & scheduling construction
2+ years’ experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as INFOR, MaxGrip, Maximo, etc.
