What will you do as a Global Technical Expert Process Technology & LNG?
As a Global Technical Expert Process Technology you will lead the process technology function providing guidance, reviewing / approving the technical solutions related to the process design of terminals for oil, chemicals and gases especially LNG. You will provide the necessary technical support on process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process data sheets of tanks and key equipment, firefighting systems, vapor treatment solutions ensuring overall process safety at terminals meet the Vopak standards and the local regulatory requirements. The job involves support to both new build terminals as well as repair/replacement or improvement of existing terminals in a cost effective and fit-for-purpose manner.
Organizational Context
The Global Technical Expert Process reports to the Senior Vice President Asset Management & Technology and is one of the five Global Technical Experts within the global department. The department is part of the Global Operations and Customer Care organization.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Global design authority: Provide lead technical governance on process designs for new and existing terminals, specializing in the lifecycle management of cryogenic, pressurized, and atmospheric storage systems
Technical gatekeeping: Review and approve critical engineering deliverables, including Basis of Design (BoD), PFDs, P&IDs, and process data sheets, ensuring alignment with performance guarantees and Vopak global standards
Engineering analytics: Execute and verify process calculations, including boil-off gas (BOG) refrigeration, thermal transition, relief valve sizing, and transient flow analysis
Sustainability roadmap: Drive the selection and implementation of the best available techniques for vapor treatment and emission control to facilitate the reduction of VOC and GHG footprint
CAPEX Optimization: Advise on the 3-Year Maintenance Plan (3YMP) to ensure process improvements, firefighting systems, and sustainability projects are technically robust and cost-effective
Risk Management: Lead and provide expert guidance on HAZOP, QRA, and LOPA studies, ensuring that process safety integrity is maintained across diverse regulatory landscapes.
Knowledge Management: Act as the custodian of global standards, specifications, toolkits and e-learnings related to process design and do the lifecycle management
Strategic Procurement: Partner with Global Supply & Procurement to evaluate and qualify vendors for critical process equipment, ensuring technical compliance and long-term reliability
Internal customer role: In the front end loading stages, if needed, act as internal customer for new gas projects to support the business units in defining the functional requirements and helping in writing the basis of design
What do we expect from you as a Global Technical Expert Process Technology & LNG?
MSc (Process engineering with 5 years of relevant experience) / BSc (chemical engineering with 10 years of relevant experience)
Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, static electricity, physical states of products, vapor handling and treatment, sustainable solutions, process equipment sizing/selection, process controls, HAZOP, QRA, SIL, LOPA etc
Stakeholder management; proactive networking, ability to inspire, influence & develop people
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
