Finance Team Leader - Record to Report

Our Global Financial Shared Service Center, based in our Rotterdam Head Quarters is looking for a Finance Teamleader - Record to Report (R2R).

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration or Accounting (HBO/University)

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant (management) experience in an international accounting environment

  • A people person with strong leadership skills

  • Solid understanding of the R2R process 

  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations (e.g. IFRS, NL GAAP)

  • Preferably you have experience in a shared service center environment

  • Dutch and English language skills are essential, additional languages are a plus

  • Advanced understanding of ERP systems; Oracle Cloud experience is an advantage

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility

  • High level of integrity, commitment and responsibility

  • Excellent organizational work ability, customer focused and attention to detail

Tasks & responsibilities:

As Finance Teamleader - R2R you will be responsible for leading your team during the daily business but also in our transition project to become a  Global Financial Shared Service Center. With your team you will be working on the general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes for all our entities. You ensure accurate, complete and timely transactional accounting with consistent application of our group accounting policies and statutory requirements. Managing your team results during this transition and aligning with your stakeholders is part of your daily job.

You will become a member of our management team with global interactions. This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential to develop further with additional responsibilities.
 

  • Leading and building your R2R team to a solid and efficient group of professionals in a diverse and international environment

  • Manage the month-end closing operations and related transactional activities in line with the service level agreements of our internal customers

  • Play an interface role between the local organization and other disciplines in the wider finance function

  • Continuous improvement of R2R processes and leading and initiate projects related to optimizing financial results, KPI's and (IT) controls

  • Manage internal & external audits and remediate any audit issues

  • Build strong relationships with the local finance teams of the global Vopak entities that we service

  • Be a business partner for other functions such as Global Treasury and Global Tax

  • Manage the onboarding of additional global Vopak entities to our Shared Service Center with regards to the R2R processes
