Compliance Manager

WHO YOU ARE

To be successful in this role candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Good understanding of the regulatory landscape especially in NSW Australia for Major Hazard Facilities and/or State Significant Developments
• Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of OHSE Laws, Regulations and Codes of Practice
• The ability to build and sustain a strong culture of compliance
• The implementation of compliance related initiatives in a corporate environment
• Project approval experience at local council or state government level
• Demonstrated ability to close out compliance related actions efficiently
• Strong professional ethic with high integrity
• Exemplarily communication skills both written and verbal
• Exemplarily leadership and time management skills

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a Sydney based permanent role, reporting to the SHECQ & Sustainability Manager. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The role tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure all Vopak activities continue to conform to legislation and licensing conditions
• Lead the development or implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organisation
• Identify, prepare, submit and respond to the companies regulatory obligations, licensing and development approval conditions in a timely and accurate manner
• Assume the role of subject matter expert for laws, regulations and code of practice that relate to our operations
• Implement new regulatory requirements in NSW and NT relevant to our operations
• Maintain and update our compliance registers
• Conduct and or participate in periodic internal reviews or audits
• Lead internal discussions and propose remedial actions in relation to any gaps or and non-compliance issues
• Maintain documentation of all compliance activities, such as complaints received and investigation outcomes
• Direct programmes and report the outcomes to management, such as those related to Major Hazard Facility licencing and compliance monitoring for environment aspects and impacts
