How each track works?

1. Operations/Technical Track: The Operations/Technical Track is designed to develop future leaders with expertise at the core of our operations, SHEQ (Safety & Sustainability, Health, Environment, Quality),  maintenance, project management etc. Through two rotational assignments, you’ll work on projects related to daily operations, process optimization, safety standards and so on.

2. Commercial Track: The Commercial Track focuses on customer service, sales, market analysis, business development etc. , preparing you for leadership roles in these areas. You'll gain hands-on experience in supporting business growth, client relationships and executing strategy across markets.

What support will I receive during the program?

Throughout the duration of the graduate program, you will be provided with comprehensive support designed to foster your growth and development. This multifaceted support system includes several key individuals and resources dedicated to ensuring your success:

  • A dedicated manager: You will be assigned a dedicated manager who will oversee your progress, provide regular feedback, and guide you in your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities within your rotations. This manager will serve as a primary point of contact for work-related matters and will be invested in your professional development within the program.

  • A mentor: You will also be paired with an experienced mentor, often someone more senior within Vopak. Your mentor will offer guidance, share insights based on their own career journey, and provide a broader perspective on the company and industry. This relationship is intended to be a valuable source of advice and support for your long-term career aspirations.

  • A buddy: To help you integrate into the company culture and navigate the initial stages of the program, you will be connected with a buddy. Your buddy will likely be a more recent graduate or someone familiar with the program who can answer your practical questions, provide informal support, and help you build your network within the organization.

  • The graduate program manager: The graduate program manager has overall responsibility for the program and will be a central resource for all participants. They will oversee the structure of the program, coordinate training and development activities, and be available to address any program-related questions or concerns you may have.

  • Access to training programs and development tools: You will have access to a range of structured training programs and development tools designed to enhance your technical skills, professional competencies, and leadership potential. These resources may include workshops, online courses, learning platforms, and opportunities for skill-based training relevant to your track and the company's needs.

Can I choose my assignment?

The first job rotation within the graduate program is pre-determined. This initial placement is carefully selected to provide you with a foundational understanding of the business and to align with your specific track within the program. While the first rotation is fixed, future rotations may offer more flexibility and opportunities for input, depending on your performance, developmental goals, and the availability of suitable roles within the organization. We will work with you to discuss future rotation possibilities as you progress through the program.

Am I eligible for this Program if I have worked more than 2 years?

When does the Graduate Program start?

The Graduate Program will commence in September. Specific start dates and onboarding schedules will be communicated to successful applicants well in advance of the program's launch. Please ensure that you are available to begin the program in September if your application is successful.

Do graduates get a permanent job at the end of the program?

One of the primary objectives of the Graduate Program is to identify and develop talented individuals who can contribute to the long-term success of the company. Graduates who consistently demonstrate strong performance, a positive attitude, and a commitment to learning throughout the 3-year program are typically offered a permanent role within the organization upon its completion. While a permanent offer is not guaranteed, it is the intended outcome for successful participants. Your performance will be regularly assessed throughout the program, and feedback will be provided to support your development towards this goal.

Can I apply to a different country than where I live?

We welcome applications from individuals residing in different countries, provided that you possess full working rights in the country where the graduate program position you are applying for is located. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary legal authorization to work in the specific country where the program is offered.

Can I switch the tracks during or after the program?

Flexibility within the program is something we can consider. While you will be initially accepted into a specific track, we understand that your interests and career aspirations may evolve over the course of the program. Therefore, requests to switch tracks during or after the program will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the availability of positions in the desired track, your performance and demonstrated aptitude, and the alignment of the switch with your overall development within the program. Discussions regarding potential track switches should be initiated with your dedicated manager and HR.
